CELEBRATING BLACK HISTORY

The Celebrating black history unit is a unit that looks at real black history through a positive and diverse lens. It covers black history dating back to the Egyptians and other black ancient civilisations such as The Zingh Empire and The Moors. We then take a look at influential black people and how they have changed the world, through inventions, politics, business and activism, pre and post the Civil Rights movement. We then end on looking at the impact of black history and black people on society and culture in the modern world.

This topic is for all students of every race, religion and background and can be tailored to be taught in both primary and secondary school.
